Fundamentals of Engineering Project Management (1.5 Credits)

Every day we are engaged in projects at home and work. The management of a project differs from case to case. No matter how good the team, how great the idea, or how many resources the company invests, without proper management, projects can become overly complicated, delayed, and pose complicated risks. Managing projects requires a very good understanding of project management concepts from planning to execution and how to apply them effectively.

This course is designed to help learners gain an understanding of the importance of project management throughout the project lifecycle. Learners will gain insights into the end-to-end process from planning to execution of large projects, explained through industrial case studies. Covering all critical aspects of project management essential for project implementation, this course also provides an understanding of project management using software tools like MS Project. This a key course for every engineer who aspires to become a Project Manager.

This course aims to equip learners with a deep understanding of project management concepts, covering the entire spectrum from planning to execution, and practical application in real-world projects, skills to prepare resources, schedules, and cost plans tailored for industrial projects, proficiency in identifying and managing project risks effectively and utilization of MS Project as a powerful tool for project management and monitoring. The course comprises of 15 hours of theory component and 15 hours of practical, adding up to a total of 30 hours duration.
