Rapid changes in education and technology are posing another challenge to already stressed classrooms worldwide. It is becoming increasingly challenging to actively involve students in learning activities. In this course, we explore what the theories of motivation say about student engagement, and we devise strategies based on these theories to help teachers modify their teaching practices to attract and sustain students’ interest in learning activities.
